Corporate Kids Challenge 2017 for KidSport BC (featuring lip-synch of Despacito)

A worthy cause

On September 9th, we were honored to take part in the Corporate Kids Challenge for KidSport BC. The Corporate Kids Challenge is an annual fundraising extravaganza presented by Ritchie Bros. and held at their Burnaby office.

All proceeds go to KidSport BC, ultimately giving thousands of underprivileged kids the chance to play a season of organized sport. You can learn more at http://www.rbauction.com/kidschallenge

The events

We competed against rival corporate teams in old-school challenges like tug-o-war, archery and lacrosse, plus a few more novel events, like the firefighters’ hose challenge – it’s like sports day for adults! Along with corporate players, some select Olympic athletes gave their time to the cause, with each of them joining a corporate team for the day.  Therefore, having volleyball pro Megan Cyr join our team was a complete honour! First of all, I must confirm that Megan was completely lovely and enthusiastic, and that she tirelessly pitched in.  She helped make it a massively fun time and raise so much money for KidSport at the same time.  You can take a look at some of the fun, over at our Instagram account.

One of the most memorable moments was the lip-synch battle.  The TR crew put their multi-lingual abilities to good use, choosing to sing Despacito by Justin Bieber. The team lip-synched in both English and Spanish, consequently gaining the edge and impressing the judges.  You can view their performance here.

Finally, I challenge you not to be dancing by the end – enjoy!
